Keep Moving

Taiji – Therapy

Keep Moving is a training program specially designed for persons suffering from movement disorders or Parkinson’s disease. It is based on the healing properties of Taiji (TaiChi), a system of movements originating in 17th century China.

Nowadays Taiji (TaiChi) is practiced as a self-care method to improve overall health and agility and to encourage mental and spiritual growth. It enhances motor skills and helps vitalize the whole body. It is unique in combining calmness, concentration and relaxation with physical activity straightening and centering the body.

My therapeutic training program Keep Moving was developed on the basis of these principles. It was tested at the Parkinson Clinic Beelitz-Heilstätten and has been offered to patients with movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease for five years. It is an easy-to-learn method adapted to the patients’ needs, imparting the therapeutic effects of taiji by administering a customizable high quality training program.

The effectiveness and value of taiji for persons suffering from movement disorders or Parkinson’s disease have been demonstrated in several scientific studies. Our method of training has come to be recognized as one of the most efficient drug-free therapies for movement disorders. It is an ideal complement to classical physiotherapy.
